Conveniently launching from Los Angeles, the Sapphire Princess from Princess Cruises’ tours Puerto Vallarta, Mazallan and Cabo San Lucas, before returning back to LA. Beginning at $399 for this week-long vacation, guests are treated to loads of attractions while on the ship, including shopping, an Asian-inspired spa, pool with bar and theater shows and casino.

For those looking for an East Coast boarding point, the 10-day Island Princess cruise from Princess offers an inexpensive getaway. Beginning in Fort Lauderdale, this cruise winds its way through Ocho Rios, the Panama Canal, Puerto Amador, Puntarenas, San Juan Del Sur, Puerto Quetzal and finally onto Huatulco and Acapulco. While on board, enjoy the London-themed casino, premier cigar bar, art gallery, ice cream bar, mini golf course and basketball court.

But cruises are not just for locations close to the states. A truly dynamic getaway that carries visitors off to the furthest ends of the Earth is more affordable than might be thought. These fabulous cruises will provide unmatched memories that will last a lifetime. Costa Cruises, for example offers the Costa Allegra, a 14-night cruise that makes stops at some of the most picturesque and exotic stops in the South Pacific, including Singapore, Port Kelang, Phuket, Malacca, Jakarta, Bali, Komodo and Ujung Pandang. But of course the excitement doesn’t end once you board the ship. The Costa Allegra is equipped for entertainment with a casino, Folies Bergeres Showroom, Flamenco Ballroom and disco.

The South American shores beacon with a two-week Norwegian Cruise Line trip through Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Puerto Madryn, Stanley, Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, Puerto Chacabuco, Puerto Montt and Santiago. This is the perfect getaway when the weather is cold as the South American temps are balmy and welcoming. At under a thousand dollars per person, it’s hard to imagine a hotel resort that would offer so much for such a small price. For another tropical getaway, look to the land down under with a ten-night tour of Australia and New Zealand courtesy of Royal Caribbean. This cruise visits such popular spots as Sydney, Arlie Beach, Cairns, Port Douglas, Willis Island and Brisbane, while the cruise ship features attractions such as the Egyptian-themed Solarium spa and pool, Broadways Melodies theater and Edelweiss Dining Room, just to name a few.

It is easy to see that for a low-cost, high energy vacation the choice is a tropical cruise. Combining exotic locales that are filled with postcard worthy vistas and popular visitor spots with the all inclusive luxuries of these top of the line cruise ships equals pure fun.
